Pondering the number of years that the tree has been around and the significant historical events that haved occurred during the trees lifetime, boggles the mind and stimulates the imagination. Sadly, the number of mature trees in urban areas is dwindling rapidly.   The meadows within Valerie Woods serve to bind and connect the old woods, ravine, waterfall, and wetlands together into a complete biological unit. They also provide the necessary elements to host and support a wide variety of plant and animal life. Although somewhat less picturesque than the waterfall, old woods, and wetlands, the meadows are an essential part of the Valerie Woods ecosystem.
